My Story

Why “In Progress with Katie” exists

Hi, I’m Katie – a neurodivergent coach, solo parent and recovering over-functioner. For years, I tried to keep up with everyone else’s expectations of what a “good life” should look like. On the inside, I felt like I was always behind, always too much and not enough, all at the same time.

The season that changed everything

Instead of doubling down, I started gently experimenting:

  • tracking my energy and nervous system,
  • learning how stress and trauma affect our bodies and attention,
  • and listening more closely to my values and strengths.

Slowly, I rebuilt my life around what actually supports me – not what looks impressive from the outside

What I bring to our work together

  • A psychology background with strong foundations in developmental, health and community psychology.
  • Lived experience of ADHD, chronic health challenges and solo parenting.
  • Training and ongoing learning in life design, nervous-system-aware practice, character strengths and gentle habit change.
  • A deep belief that you are not a problem to be fixed – you are a person to be supported.

How coaching with me feels

Sessions with me are spacious, honest and collaborative. We blend reflection with practical steps, always checking in with your energy, capacity and nervous system.

You can expect:

  • Plenty of permission to be exactly how you are.

  • Questions that help you untangle what you really want.

  • Tiny experiments instead of giant life overhauls.

  • Gentle accountability and cheerleading, at your pace.

If this sounds like the kind of support you’ve been craving, I’d love to meet you!
